Client:

Power Link (under UGL)

Purpose:

To develop a large sub-station connected to the high-voltage (HV) electricity transmission network in Central Queensland, facilitating the integration of electricity generated from the 100MW Lilyvale Solar Farm into the grid.

Scope of Work:

Exacto Projects was tasked with the construction and completion of the Lilyvale Bundoora Switchyard. This involved building the necessary infrastructure to connect the sub-station to the HV electricity transmission network, enabling the efficient transmission of electricity from the solar farm to the grid.

Project Overview:

The Lilyvale Bundoora Switchyard project, located in Tieri, Queensland, was crucial for integrating renewable energy into Central Queensland's electricity grid. Completed for Power Link under UGL, Exact Projects developed a large sub-station designed to handle the high-voltage transmission of electricity generated by the 100MW Lilyvale Solar Farm. This project was pivotal in supporting the region's transition to renewable energy sources by ensuring that the generated solar power could be efficiently transmitted and distributed through the existing network.

Key Features:

  • Substation Construction: Building a robust substation to manage the high-voltage transmission of electricity from the solar farm.

  • HV Network Integration: Establishing connections to the existing HV electricity transmission network in Central Queensland.

  • Renewable Energy Facilitation: Enabling the integration of electricity generated from the 100MW Lilyvale Solar Farm into the grid, supporting renewable energy initiatives.

  • Infrastructure Development: Ensuring the sub-station's infrastructure met the necessary standards for efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Outcome:

The successful completion of the Lilyvale Bundoora Switchyard by Exacto Projects resulted in a critical infrastructure component for Central Queensland's electricity grid. This large sub-station now facilitates the efficient transmission of renewable energy from the 100MW Lilyvale Solar Farm, contributing to the region's sustainable energy goals. The project highlighted Exact Projects' expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure developments and their commitment to advancing renewable energy integration.
